The Trophy Garden was only in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. Before you beat the Elite 4, you could only get Kricketune, Staravia, Roselia, Pikachu and Pichu in this area. However, once you beat the Elite 4 and get the National Dex, you could talk to Mr. Backlot in the Pokémon Mansion and find a Daily Pokémon there. These Pokémon can be: Eevee, Meowth, Chansey, Jigglypuff, Clefairy, Ditto, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Marill, Azurill, Plusle, Minun, Castform, Bonsly, Mime Jr. and Happiny. This feature was a good way to get Pokémon that were rare to find and also get all the Eeveelutions. Here's the catch however, these Pokémon had a 5% chance to find them, so quite rare. What is your opinion on the Trophy Garden?
I never really took advantage of this as it was a bit too laboring. 5% chance was not a risk I was going to sit there and spam for at the time, while I did swarms in BW/BW2, I was older and more patient and there was a higher chance of spawn. I think 5% is not a good enough spawn rate for me to care either as I could find other Pokémon with a better rate and a better set for me to use.
While I did like the idea of the Trophy garden, I more often than not just bred for the Pokémon that also appeared in the Garden. It seemed like a better way to get the Pokémon. I agree with Cadbberry, 5% spawn rate is not that much to go on and it could take longer than just breeding the egg.
..wait. That was a thing? Well, I guess I just learned something new, lol. While 5% does seem like a pretty low capture rate, it's still a pretty cool feature. I didn't visit the Trophy Garden much in general though, and when I did, it was mostly to capture every Pikachu I could find and then evolve them using the Thunderstones I often found in the Underground. I'm not kidding when I say I had boxes of those things... half of which were evolved, lol. After a while, I was even starting to believe I had captured every Pikachu in the area...
I thought the idea of different Pokémon appearing on different days was pretty unique. I didn't know that the chance of finding them were 5% though.
